System Architecture Overview¶
Core Components¶
1. DVA (Decentralized Verification Architecture) - Distributed integrity verification - Multi-tier deployment (Lite → One → Full → Hive) - Consensus-based decision making - Real-time integrity monitoring
2. MEMT (Multi-Engine Model Taxonomy) - Multi-LLM orchestration - Consensus algorithms across AI models - Trust-weighted decision aggregation - Engine-specific task routing
3. Integrity Ledger - GI (Governance Integrity) scoring - MIC (Mobius Integrity Credits) accounting - Immutable audit trail - Real-time integrity cache
4. Labs Ecosystem - Lab 4: E.O.M.M. (Economic Observatory & Modeling Matrix) - Lab 6: Citizen Shield (Privacy & Rights Protection) - Lab 7: OAA Hub (Open Apprenticeship Academy) - Additional labs in development

DVA (Decentralized Verification Architecture)¶
Overview¶
DVA is the core verification mechanism that ensures integrity across all operations. It operates across four tiers:
Tier 1: DVA Lite - Single verification engine - Fast, lightweight verification - Suitable for development and testing - SLA: 99.0%
Tier 2: DVA One - Dual verification with consensus - Production-grade reliability - Feedback loop integration - SLA: 99.5%
Tier 3: DVA Full - Multi-engine verification - Full consensus protocol - Advanced recovery mechanisms - SLA: 99.9%
Tier 4: DVA Hive - Distributed global consensus - Maximum integrity guarantees - Cross-datacenter coordination - SLA: 99.95%
See: dva/DVA_MEMT_INTEGRATION.md
MEMT (Multi-Engine Model Taxonomy)¶
Overview¶
MEMT orchestrates multiple AI models to achieve consensus on critical decisions:
Supported Engines: - OpenAI GPT-4 (AUREA sentinel) - Anthropic Claude (ATLAS sentinel) - Open-source models (configurable)
Consensus Algorithm: 1. Task decomposition 2. Parallel engine invocation 3. Response aggregation 4. Trust-weighted voting 5. Consensus verification
Trust Weights: - Based on historical accuracy - Domain-specific expertise - Integrity track record - Updated continuously
See: memt/ for MEMT documentation
Integrity Ledger¶
GI Formula¶
GI = 0.25 × M + 0.20 × H + 0.30 × I + 0.25 × E
Where:
M = Memory (test coverage, documentation)
H = Human (code review, collaboration)
I = Integrity (security, no violations)
E = Ethics (charter compliance, virtue tags)
Threshold: GI ≥ 0.95 required for all commits
See: ledger/gi-formula.md
Labs Architecture¶
Lab Structure¶
Each lab implements: 1. Frontend: User interface (React/Next.js) 2. Backend API: Business logic (Node.js/Python) 3. Database: Persistent storage (PostgreSQL) 4. DVA Integration: Integrity verification 5. MEMT Integration: AI-assisted operations
Communication¶
- Inter-lab: REST APIs
- Lab ↔ DVA: Event-driven
- Lab ↔ MEMT: Request/response with streaming
See: overview/technical/LABS_MASTER_ARCHITECTURE.md
Security Architecture¶
Security Layers¶
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 + JWT
- Authorization: Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Encryption: TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest
- Audit: Immutable audit logs
- Integrity: Continuous GI monitoring
Threat Model¶
- External attacks: Mitigated by WAF + IDS
- Insider threats: Prevented by RBAC + audit
- Data breaches: Protected by encryption + anonymization
- System compromise: Detected by DVA + monitoring
See: ../06-OPERATIONS/security/ for security documentation
Scalability¶
Horizontal Scaling¶
- Stateless services (easy to replicate)
- Load balancing (NGINX/ALB)
- Database read replicas
- Cache distribution (Redis Cluster)
Vertical Scaling¶
- Database optimization
- Query optimization
- Connection pooling
- Resource allocation tuning
Performance Targets¶
- API response time: < 100ms (p95)
- Page load time: < 2s (p95)
- DVA verification: < 500ms (p95)
- MEMT consensus: < 2s (p95)
See: overview/ARCHITECTURE.md for architecture details
